The Weekly Chiefs' Question: Will Jonathan Baldwin Play?

Our weekly question is back: Will Jonathan Baldwin play for the Kansas City Chiefs this week?

We probably won't know that answer until around 1:30 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) today when the Chiefs inactives for today's game against the Oakland Raiders comes out. Baldwin, the Chiefs first round pick, has been inactive in every game this season.

Prior to the Indianapolis Colts game, Chiefs coach Todd Haley made it clear that Baldwin was healthy enough to play but he wasn't active.

At some point, the Chiefs have to play Baldwin and, while I hope it's this week, there's plenty of doubt as to whether that happens. Adam Teicher of the KC Star wrote a story last week talking about why Baldwin could be inactive for a little while longer and Haley has talked about the chemistry between Dwayne Bowe, Steve Breaston and Matt Cassel as an important piece of the puzzle so if you look closely you can see him dropping hints that Baldwin may not play.

I hope he plays, I really do. Receivers are exciting in general, and this is the Chiefs first round pick, so more than a few fans are waiting to see him in action.

We're a few hours away from finding out if Week 7 will be his NFL debut.
