We're officially through six weeks in the AFC West this season and the San Diego Chargers remain at the top, followed by the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos.
Here's how the AFC West standings look right now:
1. San Diego Chargers (4-1): This is a big few weeks for the Chargers as they play, in order: at New York Jets, at Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders and at Chicago Bears. If the Packers Chargers can cruise through that schedule, they'll be on their way to a division title. But if they can't....things get a lot more interesting.
2. Oakland Raiders (4-2): Three of Oakland's next four opponents have four combined wins so, while the Chargers face a gauntlet, the Raiders have an easier ride.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (2-3): We all know KC's schedule. Two huge games coming up at Oakland and hosting San Diego on Halloween night. From there, the Chiefs play the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos.
4. Denver Broncos (1-4): The Broncos have a tough road. They're 1-4 and still have to play every AFC West team (including the Chiefs twice), as well as the Lions, Jets, Patriots and Bills. This could be a tough year in Oakland Denver.
Things will become a little clearer next week when the Chiefs play the Raiders. That should help us determine which way each of those teams is going.
