A few weeks ago a report came out indicating Time Warner Cable and NFL Network were making progress on a deal that would land the all football, all the time network in Time Warner Cable homes.
Apparently, that progress has stopped.
John Ourand of Sports Business Daily reports that the two sides have ended their negotiations and it's unlikely an agreement will be reached this year.
The companies' execs held a contentious meeting in TWC's N.Y. offices last Friday, where senior execs from both sides were unable to bridge several differences. The two sides left the meeting with no plans to meet again.
Ugh.
We've seen folks like Pro Football Talk say blame should be on the league and, while I partially agree with that, you also have to wonder why four of the five top cable companies were able to do a deal with the league, and Time Warner hasn't.
