Here's a name I almost forgot about: Chris Chambers.
The former Kansas City Chiefs receiver is working out with the San Francisco 49ers today, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
Chambers seemed to disappear once the lockout was lifted and the Chiefs released him. Maybe he's been getting other workouts but I haven't heard of any.
The Chiefs gave Chambers a three-year deal reportedly worth $15 million in March of 2010 after he had an impressive half season with the Chiefs gaining over 600 yards and four touchdowns in nine games.
Unfortunately, that was about all he did. He had all of 213 yards receiving in the 2010 season, ultimately getting deactivated late in the season, including the playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens where Kevin Curtis, signed that week, played instead.
You think Chambers gets a contract offer from San Fran? They're looking for guys after Josh Morgan reportedly fractured his ankle.
