Kansas City Chiefs Resume Doesn't Impress Everyone

One of the biggest question marks surrounding how folks view the Kansas City Chiefs is the schedule. 'They didn't play anyone', people will say. And, well, they'd be kind of right. The Chiefs haven't. But that's not a reason why they can't be a good team and win this weekend.

I heard former Redskins GM Vinny Cerrato's take on the Chiefs on 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore today and found the view of someone outside the Kansas City market interesting.

"Kansas City I think is a fraud," Cerrato said. "You look at their schedule, you look at what Kansas City has played and they've played nobody. They've played two playoff teams. They lost at Indy and beat Seattle, if you count Seattle as a playoff team."

You can listen to the rest of the interview yourself where he says Dwayne Bowe, Tony Moeaki and Jamaal Charles will all be shut down, putting the load on Matt Cassel, ending the Chiefs season.

There's no doubt we think the Chiefs are better because, well, we're fans and we've watched them all year. Maybe the Chiefs get exposed and these folks are right but it brings me back to something Tony Dungy said on NBC's Football Night in America a couple weeks ago when the Chiefs clinched the playoffs: "I think the national audience is going to learn about some guys -- Dwayne BoweJamaal CharlesTamba Hali -- these guys are some very good players."

But until or if those young guys step up on a national stage, it'll be more of....

"They've beat San Fran, Seattle, St. Louis, Arizona, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Denver, San Diego, Tennessee and Buffalo Anybody scare you there?"
