Dwayne Bowe, Brian Waters Have Illness

This all sounds so familiar.

WR Dwayne Bowe and G Brian Waters were out on Wednesday with what Kansas City Chiefs coach Todd Haley called an illness. Haley didn't provide any other details and didn't predict whether they would be ready to play.

The Chiefs also signed WR Kevin Curtis on Wednesday. The last time a player was absence from practice with an illness and a player at his position was signed, it was Matt Cassel and the appendectomy.

But there's no appendectomy situation here, at least that's what it sounds like. Bowe wasn't anywhere to be seen during the media portion of practice or in the locker room afterward but NFL Network's Jason La Canfora has since reported that Bowe is simply sick and "will be ready to go" against the Ravens.

Chiefs QB Matt Cassel said he'd be comfortable with anyone (not that we believe him) at receiver if Bowe weren't able to go. "Hopefully, [Bowe] is back sooner rather than later, he rests up and gets back out there."

We're not sure what the situation with Waters is.
