The Kansas City Chiefs had a number of milestones they could hit heading into Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders. Jamaal Charles was 56 yards behind the NFL rushing leader, Thomas Jones was 121 yards from 1,000 yards on the season, Matt Cassel was three touchdown passes from the franchise record and Tamba Hali was two sacks behind the NFL leader.
After Sunday's loss, Hali was the NFL sack king with 14.5 on the season passing Miami Dolphins LB Cameron Wake who had 14. The problem is that Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware played in the late games on Sunday and racked up three sacks giving him 15.5 on thes eason -- one more than Hali.
Hali finishes the season in second place while Wake falls in third and Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews in fourth at 13.5.
It's really too bad Hali doesn't speak publicly very often because he deserves some recognition for what he's doing with the Chiefs. If you can rewind a couple of years to when the Chiefs switched to the 3-4 defense, Hali was almost an afterthought converting from defensive end.
Now we're disappointed he was passed in Week 17 for the NFL sack title.
