The Kansas City Chiefs are at the 2011 Senior Bowl preparing for the NFL draft and, while they'll talk to everyone down there, one name popped out at me from Draft Countdown's latest report -- Noel Devine.
The Chiefs were seen talking with the West Virginia RB and he's an interesting topic of conversation. Devine weighed in at the Senior Bowl at just 160 pounds standing 5'7". If you didn't know, that's tiny. For a reference, New England Patriots RB Danny Woodhead is 5'8" and 195 pounds. The easy comparison is to say he's like WR Dexter McCluster since both are small players. It'll be interesting to see if the Chiefs target another small, quick player like McCluster in the draft. Perhaps that'll be Devine. He's projected as a fourth or fifth rounder.
The Chiefs also talked with West Virginia WR Jock Sanders, whose probably a little more similar to McCluster than Devine. He's 5'7" and 180 pounds but is expected to be a late round pick or an undrafted free agent.
Another player the Chiefs were spotted talking to is S Eric Hagg from Nebraska. He weighs in at 206 pounds and stands 6'1". It appears he'd be a late round draft pick or an undrafted free agent.
Any thoughts on another McCluster-like player?
