We've been waiting for an official confirmation on this and though that has yet to come it appears Kansas City Chiefs LB Tamba Hali will not be playing in the 2011 Pro Bowl.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported via Twitter late Monday night that San Diego Chargers LB Shaun Phillips would be replacing Hali (who replaced Steelers LB James Harrison) in the Pro Bowl this year.

No reason was reported but after reading Kent Babb of the KC Star's piece on Hali this week and some of the injuries he played through, I can see why he would skip the game (if the reason for missing the game is indeed injury).

So far it sounds like the Chiefs other five Pro Bowlers -- QB Matt Cassel, RB Jamaal Charles, WR Dwayne Bowe, G Brian Waters and S Eric Berry -- will be playing in the game.

So to get it straight -- Shaun Phillips replaced Tamba Hali who replaced James Harrison who can't play because of the Super Bowl.
