Matt Cassel Taking A Beating; Raiders Lead Chiefs 10-3 At Half

The Kansas City Chiefs can't run the ball. They can't protect quarterback Matt Cassel. And they're down by a touchdown to the Oakland Raiders in an important Week 17 game.

Matt Cassel has been sacked, knocked down and hurried all day long by the Raider defense. The Chiefs' offensive line simply cannot protect their quarterback. It's getting to the point where it's scary. Cassel was knocked down on one play and came up clutching his left wrist. The Chiefs obviously cannot afford a Matt Cassel injury right now. Might as well kiss the playoffs goodbye if Cassel goes down....

We're seeing the same ineptness in the running game - KC cannot open up any holes for it's running backs.

The lone bright spot is Tamba Hali and the Chiefs' defensive line. Hali has two sacks and has been virtually unstoppable against the Raiders.

The Chiefs have 72 total yards in the first half. The Raiders have 192. The Chiefs aren't out of this game by any means but the first half was a pathetic showing by pretty much everyone but Kansas City's defensive line.

Todd Haley and the Chiefs' coaching staff need to make some major half time adjustments if they don't want to enter the NFL Playoffs on a sour note.
