More Charlie Weis Replacement Candidates Popping Up

We're getting a little ahead of ourselves since Charlie Weis is still technically on the Kansas City Chiefs, but we're hearing more names of possible candidates to replace him as offensive coordinator. We already mentioned two possible candidates: Greg Olson, quarterbacks coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as Nick Sirianni, an in-house candidate.

Here are a few more names to remember -- Mo Carthon, Brian Daboll and Mike Miller.

Carthon is the assistant head coach already on staff and has worked with the running backs. He and Haley have a lot of history together and Carthon is among Haley's most trusted assistants.

FOXSports.com reports Daboll, Cleveland's offensive coordinator, is a name to keep an eye on if the Browns staff is fired after the season. "Daboll is fully versed in the offensive scheme which the Chiefs ran this season under Weis," the report says. "Daboll served as the wide receivers coach two years under Weis when both were with the New England Patriots."

Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star floats Mike Miller from Arizona as a possibility. Miller is the passing game coordinator and his Arizona resume sounds similar to Haley's.

I think those who have actually worked with Haley in the past are the best candidates because then he knows what he's getting into. He doesn't want a third offensive coordinator search in as many years.
