2011 NFL Mock Drafts On The Kansas City Chiefs

With the 2010 NFL season over in a short few weeks we'll be moving full speed ahead into 2011 NFL draft season. Kicking things off a little early, I wanted to take a look at a couple of 2011 NFL mock drafts that have come out from SB Nation this week.

First up is our resident draft guru Mocking The Draft.
They've got the Chiefs with pick No. 21 selecting Mississippi State OT Derek Sherrod.
There is no bigger weakness on Kansas City's offensive line than right tackle. While Sherrod projects more to the left side, he is skilled enough to move to the right. By doing so, the Chiefs would no longer have to worry about starting Barry Richardson or Ryan O'Callaghan.
You're not going to find me complaining too often about upgrading the offensive line. That's one of those things you can do just about every year. The second mock draft comes from Brian Galliford of SBNation.com who has the Chiefs selecting Pittsburgh WR Jonathan Baldwin.
As awesome as Dwayne Bowe is, he can't do everything himself - and we saw what happens when a good team can take Bowe away when the Chiefs were blown out of Arrowhead Stadium in the first round of the playoffs. Baldwin is a tricky evaluation - he takes more plays off than he should - but Kansas City's need is so desperate that they almost have to pull the trigger.
While they're obviously two very different picks I think they both hit on perceived needs for the Chiefs.
