WR David Clowney Workout With The Chiefs Reportedly Coming Friday

Former New York Jets WR David Clowney was released on Sept. 5 and said on his Twitter account on Wednesday night that he was making a trip to Kansas City.

We weren't sure whether Clowney meant to work out for the Chiefs or not but the Kansas City Star's Adam Teicher confirms that Clowney is coming in for workout.

Per Teicher, the private workout is scheduled for Friday.

It seems unlikely that the Chiefs would sign Clowney on a Friday and have him play on a Monday but I suppose it's possible.

The book on Clowney is that he excels in training camp and preseason type environments, which could mean he's going to look good in a private workout. From a physical standpoint, he's got the goods at 6'0" and 188 pounds along with speed in the range of 4.4 seconds on a forty yard dash.

We'll see if the Chiefs make a move after the workout. There could be one Chief on the roster right now who will be very disappointed on Friday.
