Kansas City Chiefs Exit Week 3 As NFL Rushing Leaders

The Kansas City Chiefs 31-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday included 207 yards rushing.

Jamaal Charles added 97 yards on 12 carries while Thomas Jones finished with 95 yards on 19 carries.

The Chiefs consistently ran the ball well opening the passing game for Matt Cassel and the rest of the offense.

The Chiefs, now three games into the season, lead the NFL in rushing at 482 total rushing yards. That's an average of 160.7 per game.

Unless Green Bay or Chicago blow up for over 250 yards rushing, the Chiefs will hold the top spot in Week 3.

The Chiefs were fifth in the NFL in Week 2 so this is a nice bump for them.

Chiefs head coach Todd Haley has said that he envisions the Chiefs being able to run the ball well and play good defense.

Three games into the 2010 season and his vision is being realized.
