Where The Kansas City Chiefs Stand Through Week 2 Of The NFL Season

In what will become a weekly Monday morning post, I'm going gather the current 2010 season stats for the Kansas City Chiefs, both players and team stats, and update you right here. 

Through week 2 of the NFL season, here's where the Chiefs' stand in terms of statistics:

Offense

  • 23% third down percentage;
  • 254 average total yards;
  • 137.5 yards rushing per game;
  • 117 yards passing per game;
  • 31 of the Chiefs' 37 points have come in the first half;

Defense

  • Giving up 344 yards per game;
  • Only giving up 91 yards rushing per game;
  • Giving up 5.4 yards per play;
  • Opponent's completion percentage is 54%; and,
  • 2 team sacks.

Offensive Leaders

  • Rushing: Jamaal Charles (22 rushes for 141 yards), Thomas Jones (33 rushes for 122 yards), Matt Cassel (6 rushes for 9 yards);
  • Receiving: Tony Moeaki (8 catches for 79 yards), Dwayne Bowe (5 catches for 58 yards), Chris Chambers (4 catches for 47 yards)
Defensive Leaders
  • Tackles: Derrick Johnson (18), Eric Berry (11), Jovan Belcher (7), Glenn Dorsey (5)
  • Sacks: Wallace Gilberry (1), Tamba Hali (.5), Glenn Dorsey (.5)
