Chiefs Training Camp: Todd Haley Looks Forward To Dry Night Practice

It appears that weather won't be a problem for the Kansas City Chiefs first night session at training camp.

That should make things run much smoother. Here's what Chiefs head coach Todd Haley had to say about the night practice from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. this evening.

"I'm excited," he said. "I hope there's a big crowd and I hope the weather holds off but I'm more excited to go into a different circumstance like night, lights and all those things. Get out of the sun. This is our first opportunity to do something like this since I've been here."

Crowds are expected. The high numbers are saying 10,000 but my official guess is going to be around 7,500.

As for the actual advantage to a night practice, Haley makes a great point -- the Chiefs first five games (four preseason + one regular season) are at night.

"I think anytime you can change the variables and create a different situation for guys to react to and to not be distracted by, and to keep their focus and concentration. I think it's an opportunity for us to improve."

Seems logical they would look forward to this then, right?
