Chiefs Training Camp: Maurice Leggett Missing In The Morning

The Chiefs had another go-round of practice this morning in St. Joe. As I said, I'm not up there for the morning session but Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star and Josh Looney of kept a good account of things on Twitter.

There was one player missing: Maurice Leggett.

Leggett said on his Twitter account last week that he was having a baby on Monday, if not sooner, so I imagine that's where he is.

Babb tweets Kendrick Lewis saw some time on the first team. That had been Jon McGraw's spot the first weekend.

Like Sunday, Pierre Walters and Brian Waters did not participate in camp instead riding bikes in the rehab zone.

Babb hasn't been impressed with Tyler Palko so far. I can see that. He hasn't thrown a very pretty ball in the first few days of camp. Babb wonders if the Chiefs could carry only two quarterbacks into the season. (Remember Dexter McCluster in the LSU game...).

Josh Looney of notes the inside linebacker battle is intense:

D-Mo, DJ and Mays competing against one another in every drill...never seen them amp it up that high in pre-practice drills. Should be fun.

We'll be back this afternoon with more tidbits from camp.
