Will The Chiefs Front Seven Be A Problem In 2010?

We've been talking about the Chiefs front seven and how they've done little, if anything, to address the area.

The only additions would be Shaun Smith at nose tackle (backup) and Cameron Sheffield at outside linebacker (backup). So, really, not many changes have been made.

Maybe Derrick Johnson and Jovan Belcher see more time at inside linebacker but they saw some last year.

The front seven was arguably the weakest area on offense or defense for the Chiefs. As you know, the coaching staff has done little upgrade and have talked about the guys already in-house improving. I'm looking at your Glenn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson.

So what kind of improvement should we see?

It's hard to tell. Romeo Crennel will help but the most important position in the Chiefs defense, nose tackle, likely won't see much change. Ron Edwards will be 31 years old next week and he's been in the league for a while so we pretty much know what he's going to give us. It's a solid effort but there's a reason Chiefs fans say nose tackle is currently a position of need.

While I've been thinking about the front seven and the (lack of) movement, I realized we haven't polled everyone on this. This is probably the most important facet of the Chiefs in 2010 so it's important that we gauge the fans thoughts before diving into training camp and the regular season.
