The Chiefs and the Royals have combined for a ticket special on Monday, Sept. 13. The Chiefs are opening the 2010 season on Monday Night Football that evening against the Chargers while the Royals recently changed a game that night to that afternoon at 2:10 p.m.

I think we'll be dubbing this the longest day ever. From the Chiefs:

Fans are encouraged to be a part of one of the most eagerly-anticipated single-day sporting events in recent Kansas City history as Monday Night Football makes its return to Kansas City. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to this doubleheader before Chiefs single-game tickets go on sale. Jackson County residents can purchase tickets beginning on July 8th at 10:00 AM at the Chiefs ticket box office window with a personal tax receipt. Tickets will go on sale to the Chiefs and Royal season-tickets holders on July 9th at 10:00 AM. The general public can purchase tickets beginning at 1:00 PM on July 9th.

So you'd leave the house around noonish or so to make the Royals game. Watch them until 4;00-5:00 p.m. or so. Take a "break" -- otherwise known as refueling on non-$9 beers -- and then head to the Chiefs game at 9:05 p.m.

Anyone going to take them up on this offer? Cheapest package is $68 for a ticket to each game.
