After Saturday morning's practice the Kansas City Chiefs officially cut the ribbon on their new home. In a ceremony that included Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, St. Joe mayor Bill Falkner, president of Missouri Western State University Robert Vartabredian and others involved in the project literally cut the ribbon.
Yes, that is an oversized pair of scissors in the picture above.
Hunt said he was optimistic that the Chiefs will be an "economic catalyst" to St. Joe and bring "national attention" to the community. MWSU having one of the better set of facilities helps with that.
The indoor complex mirrors that of Arrowhead. The turf is the same and it's the same size as the Arrowhead complex. It's pretty impressive.
Hunt was given the key to St. Joe.
The event was open to fans and there was a good-sized crowd that showed up.
Harmony University was in attendance to sing the national anthem.
Now, you've got a room full of Chiefs fans and the national anthem is being sung.
Can you imagine how that ended?
