Despite the NFL Transactions page listing him as signed on July 22, the Kansas City Chiefs announced today that the Jon Asamoah deal is official.
Asamoah, a third round pick, is expected to play in a reserve role along the interior offensive line. He's listed as a guard but does have a little experience playing center.
This means that the Chiefs have six of their seven draft picks under contract on the day they depart for training camp in St. Joseph, MO.
We're waiting on Eric Berry, the fifth overall pick.
He'll likely sign a deal with a per year average over $10 million and guaranteed money in the neighborhood of $25-30 million.
