Chiefs RB Thomas Jones comes across as a very intelligent person and it's easy to see why Chiefs head coach Todd Haley pursued him once the Jets released him last March. Haley and the Chiefs have placed an emphasis on surrounding the team with high character guys.
Jones, who is already prepping for life after football, talked with UrbLife.com and insinuated he's not going to be pulling a Brett Favre after he retires.
Once you're done playing football, you're done. You'll never come back to the NFL, unless if you're Brett Favre or someone like that. I'm just trying to play each day and every game like it's my last. I have plenty of time to have kids, a family, which is very important to me since I come from a big family of seven kids.
You should check out the full interview. Jones talks about his post-football endeavors and it sounds like he's preparing himself financially and professionally for life after football.
