Chiefs 2010 Draft Pick Javier Arenas Hires New Agent

We noted last week that Chiefs rookie Javier Arenas may not sign for at least a week because he had reportedly switched agents. Once a player changes representation, he has to wait five days before hiring another one. Presumably, he wouldn't negotiate his rookie contract on his own.

Well, he hasn't signed to this point and now he's got his new agent, according to Aaron Wilson of National Football Post.

Kansas City Chiefs second-round cornerback Javier Arenas has hired Hadley Engelhard as his new agent, according to a league source.

Engelhard also reps Chiefs defensive back Maurice Leggett, according to his website.

Now the two sides can get to work on getting a deal done for Arenas.
