In the first week of July a league source told AP that the Lions had inquired about Chiefs safety Jarrad Page. The Chiefs, according to our source, weren't interested in such a deal.
Now ESPN has caught up to us.
ESPN's Len Pasquarelli reports, "Detroit insiders have confirmed the team is interested" in Page.
I'm assuming he was "confirming" our report on July 5 (considering I don't see any other reports about it).
At the moment, it doesn't sound like there's any interest on the Chiefs side to part with Page. Maybe it's the Lions offer or maybe it's the Chiefs standing tough on Page and his offseason holdout but, for the time being, nothing is happening. I've got a feeling the Chiefs want to "win" this argument (Hey, perception counts) and will hold off on doing anything with Page as long as they reasonably can.
Things could change as camp gets closer and the Lions need for a safety increases.
