Rodney Harrison talked with 810 WHB's Soren Petro this week and had some very interesting things to say about Eric Berry, Matt Cassel and the Kansas City Chiefs.
I'll let you know what he had to say about all those topics in the coming days but, for now, I wanted to swipe one portion of the interview that could become relevant in the next month.
Harrison said he recently talked with his old colleague, Scott Pioli, about planning a trip up (or down) to St. Joe this summer to work with Berry.
"I talked to Scott Pioli about possibly coming up to the Chiefs camp and spending some time with this kid. I want to spend some time with this kid some on the keys and secrets of not only being in the league for a long time-- because anyone can be in the league with that type of talent -- but really making an impact.
"How can you make others better? It's not just about you, Eric Berry, because you're a tremendous player but how can you, as a young player, make other people better? That's where he's really going to make his mark."
This has "Patriot Way" written all over it and you can tell why Pioli and Co. liked him so much in New England.
I also like that the Chiefs are bringing in guys who have been successful in the league to help their players. They did it last year with former great Mark Bavaro and intern-turned-coach Anthony Pleasant and it appears they're ready to do it again with Harrison.
Now if they can just get Tony Gonzalez to spend some time at camp....
