Report: Chargers WR Vincent Jackson Suspended, Won't Play Monday Night Opener Against Chiefs

The Chargers have a history of starting slow under Norv Turner.

Don't expect that to change in 2010. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter:

The NFL suspended SD Pro Bowl WR Vincent Jackson three games for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

This means he'll miss the week one Monday Night Football opener against the Chiefs. We wrote last night that this is what Jackson expected and, per Schefter, that's what happened.

The suspension jives with what Jared Allen got a few years back. Like Jackson, Allen had two DUIs. He was suspended four games before getting it down to two games. And, like Jackson, Allen wanted a new contract around that time.
