Herm Edwards Believes In The Todd Haley-Led Chiefs

Former Chiefs coach Herm Edwards is still in the Kansas City area and recently told Michael Coleman of KCTV-5 that he believes in the direction the team is going.

Herm talked about the current day Chiefs, the Dwayne Bowe "importing" comments and his next move in the NFL (he's been offered jobs).

It's all there, after the jump.

On whether he got a fair shake with the Chiefs:

Absolutely. I think when you look at what transpired, we were in a situation where we had to rebuild a football team. I think, now, they're moving in a good direction.

On Dwayne Bowe's comments:

I spoke to Dwayne. We're still friends. I get what he was trying to say. He was trying to be funny about it. What he did was kind of exposed things that could happen.

On his next move in the NFL:

I've been offered some jobs to go back but I'm enjoying what I'm doing now. There will be opportunities and, if it's the right one, maybe you look at it and maybe not. I'm really enjoying what I'm doing right now.

On Lamar Hunt:

You're not going to find an owner better than Lamar. he was one of the pioneers of letting the black athlete play any position he wanted to play.

On the current Chiefs:

Scott Pioli and Todd Haley will do a fantastic job of cultivating the young players they have on the roster now. I expect big things from these guys.
