'Stomach Issue' Was Tony Moeaki's Injury At The Start Of OTAs

Chiefs rookie tight end Tony Moeaki practiced at the Chiefs rookie minicamp the week after the draft at the end of April but didn't see the field again until June 7.

Chiefs coach Todd Haley wouldn't elaborate on why he was out only saying that it was no big deal. Haley never comments on injuries when he doesn't have to.

So what was the reason for his absence?

"He had a stomach issue," Moeaki's agent, Jack Bechta, told Bob Fescoe of 610 Sports on Thursday morning. "It was internal. I don't know exactly what it was but it was borderline. He could have gone. He did go at the end there in the last week."

Bechta says Moeaki will be "fine" for the start of training camp.

Bectha, putting on the agent hat, went on to say that the Chiefs made a great decision drafting Moeaki. "If he played at a SEC school, or a place that put the ball in the air a bunch -- you gotta remember, he played at Iowa in the Big 10 where I think they throw the ball 15 times a game -- he would've been a first round pick."
