As I get older each year, I become more and more impressed with these young players that act as if they're veterans in the community. Brandon Carr is an example of that. For the second consecutive year, he's hosting a golf game to raise money for his former high school.
"I want to continue to give back to my school and community and provide things we didn’t have coming up as far as equipment and being able to go to different camps as a team," he said. "I’ve been blessed with this situation and just want to help those around me."
"Hopefully (seeing us succeed) is motivation for them (current high school athletes) that hard work and continuing to believe and being persistent in your goals will pay off," Carr said. "Who would’ve ever though us kids from Carman-Ainsworth would play in the NFL? It’s a dream come true for us, but hopefully it will inspire the younger guys looking up to us."
He doesn't sound like he's 24 years old.
Carr and the rest of the Chiefs players are getting ready for camp on July 29th.
