Chiefs TE Brad Cottam Says There's No Increased Chance Of Injury After Neck Surgery

Chiefs TE Brad Cottam had a scary spill toward the end of the 2009 season. In an awkward play, he landed on his neck and ultimately cracked his vertebrae.

According to his doctors (via Bob Gretz at CBS Sports), he'll be fine moving forward.

"If I thought there was any increased chance of something bad happening because of the injury," he said, "I would not have come back. They tell me I'll be able to play without any more concerns than normal. As long as that's the case, I'll be on the field."

Good to hear.

Cottam didn't participate in any of the offseason program because of the injury but, if he makes the team, should be able to participate moving forward.
