Trent Green Breaks Down Matt Cassel And The Chiefs

Trent Green of the Chiefs NFL Network broke down the Kansas City Chiefs heading into the 2010 season. The Chiefs are 27th on NFLN's preseason power rankings and, while that's a low ranking, everyone seems to be impressed with the direction in which the Chiefs are heading.

Trent stuck to what he knows -- quarterbacks -- in analyzing the Chiefs and Matt Cassel.

"I think those are the things that you're going to have to see out of Matt Cassel this year. You'll see more utilization of the play-action pass and he's going to be more comfortable because now instead of changing the offense he has an offense he knows heading into the season."

Green broke down several plays on film. One was the Chiefs offensive line clearly having some communication issues -- which should be helped by 3-4 starters on that line returning for another season -- as well as Cassel not hitting the right receivers in the passing game.

He also brings up another good point. In 2004, Charlie Weis' last year with the Patriots, Corey Dillon rushed for 1,635 yards in that offense.

"Everyone I've talked to at Arrowhead has been very impressed with Thomas Jones," Green said after mentioning Dillon, who was flanked by Kevin Faulk at the time.
