Chiefs Players Getting An Early Start On Their Workouts

I generally start my day by getting to the office around 7:00 AM or so. Of course it always seems like it's waaay to early to be working. Apparently the Chiefs players are choosing to be up and at 'em that early.

Chiefs CB Brandon Carr talked with Josh Looney on the Red Zone Podcast this week and said the players are taking the 'Early bird gets the worm' approach.

"A lot of guys have come to the 7:30 [AM] session," Carr said. "That's odd because we have a 7:30 and a 10:00 and a lot of times guys want to get up late. But guys are eager to be out here and eager to work so they come to the 7:30 workout and get after it."

He talked about being a year into Haley's system and understanding where he's coming from. "The first year, we didn't know what to expect," Carr said. "Now guys have a feel for what coach Haley is looking for."

At some point, you would think all this offseason work and preparation would translate to W's on the field. The Chiefs have now had a full year in Haley's system so there shouldn't be anymore surprises along the way.

Presumably, knowing what to expect (and thus knowing how to prepare) will make things easier the second time around.
