Chiefs OTAs: McCluster, Bowe Look Good And Down Goes Croyle

We've got some reports of a few players looking good and another back to a familiar place.

Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com reports WR Dwayne Bowe had a "nice day" at Chiefs OTAs this afternoon. He caught two red zone touchdowns. Bowe has come under criticism for not only the ESPN the Magazine comments but also for a case of the dropsies.

Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star reports that Chiefs rookie WR/RB Dexter McCluster "continues to be impressive. He just caught a post route in 11-on-11 and outran all defenders for a TD." Good start for the Chiefs rookie. They'll need him to be effective in the slot on routes like that. His speed in the open field is a big reason he was drafted .

He was so fast his shoes literally exploded, Looney reports. Here's the photo evidence.

Meanwhile, Looney reports that QB Brodie Croyle left practice early due to a finger injury. Per Looney, Croyle hit his finger on a helmet, presumably after releasing the ball. That sounds painful but not long-term. We'll wait to hear what the Chiefs coach has to say about it (probably nothing since it's the offseason).

Nick Wright of 610 Sports reports Cassel's throwing was "much, much improved" compared to last week.

Practice reports from the usual suspects should be floating out soon. We'll bring you those reports once they hit the wire.
