Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles Says Shoulder Is Fine After Surgery

Two of the biggest names not participating in the Chiefs OTAs last week were RB Jamaal Charles and CB Brandon Flowers. Both had shoulder issues following the 2010 season.

We've already heard from Flowers, who says he's 100% healthy but is just sitting out for precautionary reasons.

What about Jamaal Charles? He tells the Kansas City Star all is well.

"The shoulder's holding up fine," Charles said. "It's getting better. They just want to keep me right until we really get started. They don't want me to trip and fall on it, so that's the best thing for me right now. I tell people not to worry about it."

Late in the 2010 season, Charles had to come out for a few plays one game because of a shoulder injury. After the game we asked him what's up and he said it just popped out of place.

It's been happening since high school, he said, so it sounds like this surgery isn't anything to be too concerned about.

The shoulder surgery went down in January (on the 20th to be exact) and, like Flowers, appears to be taking a precautionary approach to football in shorts this May.
