Brian Waters is arguably the strongest voice in the Kansas City Chiefs locker room. That comes from what I've seen with my own two eyes and stories passed along from other players. If there's a team problem, the younger guys will be looking to Waters.
It's why he's a team captain and it's why Jimmy Wilkerson said yesterday "someone like Brian Waters" would approach Dwayne Bowe about his comments to ESPN the Magazine.
Waters and the rest of the offensive linemen were at a community event (more on that later) and the local NBC affiliate was there to ask him about you know what.
"I think, just like anything, you want to handle things in the appropriate time and place," he said. "And just like now is not the time to be dealing with this, there are certain situations that shouldn't be dealt with in the press. This will be one of those situations, hopefully."
The Chiefs rookies were in the facility yesterday but the veterans were not.
OTAs start back up again on Monday so that's the next opportunity to hear from the players about this issue.
