Bob Gretz of BobGretz.com has the rundown of what took place at One Arrowhead Drive this morning. The Chiefs conducted their first OTA with all but one player (Jarrad Page) present -- that includes Mike Vrabel and Brian Waters.
Gretz reports that of the 84 players on the field, six did not participate due to injuries from last year or offseason surgeries: RB Jamaal Charles, CB Brandon Flowers, TE Brad Cottam, WR Quentin Lawrence, WR Lance Long and TE Tony Moeaki.
We know about a few of these injuries: Charles (shoulder), Flowers (shoulder?) and Cottam (neck). No word on Lawrence and Long's situation. Haley said Moeaki's injury was no big deal.
Here are a few things Gretz is reporting (keeping in mind it's May):
- C Rudy Niswanger played with the first team; C Casey Wiegmann was with the two's
- NT Ron Edwards played with the first team; NT Shaun Smith was with the two's
- The front seven was the same as last year
- LB Derrick Johnson was on the second team
Head over to BobGretz.com for a good rundown. We'll be back shortly with what Todd Haley and a few players had to say.
