Kansas City Area Players Come In For Chiefs Local Pro Day

New, comments

The Kansas City Chiefs held their local pro day this afternoon. This is always a fun time of year because some names will undoubtedly conjure up some memories.

Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com will have the full list of "familiar" players tomorrow but I wanted to nail down what the local pro day is exactly.

Essentially, this is for the guys in the metro area to get a look (and advice) from the Chiefs coaches.

Who qualifies?

Basically, if a player went to college in the Kansas City metro area, he's eligible. So the players on the UMKC football team would be eligible.

(If you get that UMKC joke, then you must be a local!)

Players that went to high school in the area are also eligible. That means a guy that grew up in, say Lee's Summit, could attend.

We believe one of those names is K Derek Doerfler from Baker University.

The complete list of players attending should be up on KCChiefs.com tomorrow.

Those of you more in-tune with the local prospects than I am, let us know who you think is there.
