Sounds Like Chiefs Preseason Home Opener Is Friday, August 27th

Chiefs QB Matt Cassel appeared on 810 WHB this morning (more on that later) and apparently indicated the time and date for the Chiefs first preseason game.

Via Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com, the first home preseason game against the Eagles appears to be on Friday, August 27th at 7:00 PM.

The Chiefs have yet to make an official announcement. This would be the third preseason game.

This will be the opener to the "New Arrowhead" -- a ton of renovations that the Chiefs have been doing at the complex. I was out at the Royals opening day earlier this week and saw they were still in the middle of construction.

Here are some photos of Arrowhead from that day.

The only other preseason date and time we know is the opener in Atlanta against the Falcons will be on Friday, August 13th at 7:00 PM.

Here's the Chiefs entire preseason schedule.
