With The 36th Pick in the Arrowhead Pride Mock Draft, The Kansas City Chiefs Select...

ChiefsFan90s with the pick...

The Chiefs did the smart thing in the first round by taking the best safety available, as it appears that there will soon be a run of safeties being taken. Giving Romeo Crennel his man on defense, it is time for Charlie Weis to get his man before there is a run on wide receivers with the likes Golden Tate, Arrelious Benn, Jacoby Ford, Damian Williams, Brandon LeFall, Mardy Gilyard, and Carlton Mitchell still available. So with all of these wide receivers still available, and the Chiefs in need of a wide receiver who can actually catch the football, have excellent game speed, and an eventual replacement for Chris Chambers.

Can you guess which one the Chiefs will be taking?

With the 36th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft the Kansas City Chiefs select Charlie Weis' former wide receiver from Notre Dame Golden Tate.

There is not much that can be said about Tate that Chiefs' fan do not already know about. He is probably the second best wide receiver in the 2010 Draft.

Golden Tate is extremely fast (Or as Draft Board Insider puts it, he runs like a runningback.), the explosiveness to get by the some of the better defensivebacks, great strength for a little guy, highly intelligent on-and-off-the-field, and best of all he has good hands (As shown in the picture above.).

While he is currently sloppy at running routes, needs to improve his run blocking ability, and a small frame; he has shown the ability and willingness to improve his game, and there are no two coaches in all of the NFL who know him better than Charlie Weis and Bernie Parmalee. For anybody expecting him to become the second-coming of Wes Welker, make no mistake, Golden Tate is not a Wes Welker type of wide receiver. He has been compared to the likes of Carolina's Steve Smith, and Minnesota's Percy Harvin. In 2010,

Golden Tate will compete and most likely win the slot receiver position, and will be a weekly starter by the beginning of the 2013 season at the latest.

First round results are here.
