NFL Draft 2010: The Kansas City Chiefs Draft OG Jon Asamoah

With the 68th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Illinois OG Jon Asamoah.

Man, another pick that wasn't on our draft interests list. Here's more on Asamoah from CBS Sports:

A three-year starter at right guard, Asamoah has the size, strength and mobility to project as a versatile guard who can play either side and pull when needed. According to the Illini's coaching stats, as a starter he had 267 knockdowns, otherwise known as pancakes. In the last two seasons, he allowed four sacks and four pressures. Coaches and teammates love him for his nastiness on the field and his upbeat personality in the locker room. He wasn't bad in class either, earning Academic All-America honors.

And the Chiefs are done for the day. I think it's smart for the Chiefs to go offensive line here. It was a definite need from last season, with Brian Waters getting older. The Chiefs add more depth to the o-line with Asamoah and the addition of Ryan Lilja this off season.

We'll have more from you in a bit. After the jump, courtesy of AP reader Thomas Hall, we have an Asamoah profile video.

For now, what's your reaction to the Asamoah pick?
