With the Ravens just about to lose Ed Reed to retirement, the defense has finally become the area of issue for the Ravens, a big change from the past 5+ years.

However, Newsome will know how to address this issue appropriately, taking players that are able to do many things to fit in nicely with the defense they are running in Baltimore.

Iowa CB Amari Spievey

Spievey will fit in nicely on the edge of the defense, but will be able to fill in at safety if needed to. This gives the Ravens the versatility that they are known to thrive on, as well as many different possibilities in terms of pre-snap looks.

Amari is an aggressive ballhawk with only average speed, but a great tackler. He will provide the kind of game changing ability that the Ravens will be lacking if Ed Reed does in fact decide to retire. Mix in Kindle with Spievey, and the defense is just about rebuilt. Any other holes in the defense can, and will, be addressed by the coaching staff of the Ravens.
