Yes, the NFL schedule is being released tonight at 6:00 PM Arrowhead time.

Just like last year, we'll be around right on the dot to post the release of the schedule. Plan on showing up at least by 6:00 PM. We'll have an open thread. People will be really excited. Skipping out on the last work responsibilities of the day. Should be fun.

To get an idea of how we'll do things, look at last year. Around 4:15 PM, a couple of schedule leaks began to come out and then by 6:00 PM it was released. That was a fun night. Hopefully part of it's leaked again.

This is also when we hopefully find out that the Chiefs have a primetime game to open the season. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt has requested a primetime home opener for the debut of the renovated Arrowhead stadium.

As Josh Looney pointed out this morning, there have been 14 new or renovated stadiums opened since 2000. 10 of those stadiums were opened to primetime crowds in the team's first or second home game.

Will the Chiefs receive the same treatment?

We'll find out tonight.
