With The 43rd Pick In The Arrowhead Pride Mock Draft, The Miami Dolphins Select...

With the 22nd ranked defense in the 2009 season, and the recent acquisition of Brandon Marshall (which means that apparently I don't have this pick anymore), I believe this pick will be defense. While the Dolphins have a glaring need at both free safety and cornerback, there's another position of higher need that must be addressed early.

So, with the 43rd pick in the 2010 Arrowhead Pride Mock Draft, the Miami Dolphins select...

Linval Joseph, Nose Tackle from East Carolina.

With very few first-tier safeties and corners still on the board, and with such a deep draft at the position, it's quite simple to see that a nose tackle MUST be the choice in the second round. Wait until the third, and its possible that no more will be left, with all the teams that might be selecting a NT (Denver, Kansas City, Buffalo, etc.).

And Joseph, the most physically gifted nose in the draft, will have a year or two training under Jason Ferguson to hone his skills. While this pick could be a position of need in the secondary, I find it hard to believe that any quality nose tackles will be available in the third round.
