Chiefs Would Be Wise To Check Out Bryan Bulaga's Medical Concern

While there haven't been any reports of Iowa OT Bryan Bulaga visiting the Chiefs, I imagine it will happen (or has happened) at some point.

That's because Bulaga has a slight medical concern. Last fall, he developed a viral infection in his thyroid that caused fatigue and an increased heart-rate.

"It was a three-week thing that ran its course and now it’s gone," Bulaga said at the NFL combine. "I’ve been checked by doctors at the Mayo Clinic and by my doctor at the University of Iowa, both endocrinologists. I’ve been cleared by both of them."

If he's an option with the fifth pick, then the Chiefs will want to bring him in for a visit. These visits are when team doctors can take a closer look at players and get their own analysis in.

The condition isn't expected to be an issue but with $50+ million being invested into that pick, getting a closer look is a necessity.

On the other hand, because of Pioli's connection with Ferentz, the Chiefs probably have quite a bit of good information on Bulaga.
