The Kansas City Chiefs did not offer a tender to G/C Andy Alleman before free agency making him available to sign with any of the 32 teams. He wasn't on the market for more than 36 hours before the Indianapolis Colts snagged him.
Adam Caplan of Scout.com first reported the news.
Interesting note about this: A Colts scout attended quite a few Chiefs game this season. It's not unusual for teams to send scouts to other games but at least we know now that the Colts were taking notes on Alleman.
Alleman, 26 ,came to the Chiefs in a trade along with Ikechuku Ndukwe from the Miami Dolphins. We're still not sure what the compensation on that trade was.
Alleman was originally a third round pick by the New Orleans Saints in 2007.
So the Colts sign a former Chiefs guard. Hmm...Ryan Lilja anyone?
