Former Chiefs DB Kevin Ross Goes To The Dark Side

Former Kansas City Chiefs DB Kevin Ross has gone to the darkside.

He is now a member of the Oakland Raiders coaching staff, according to Jerry McDonald of the Bay Area News Group.

With the Chiefs, Ross was one of the NFL’s top man-to-man coverage corners - a technique favored by the Raiders and owner Al Davis.

Ross was the assistant secondary and quality control coach for the San Diego Chargers but his contract was not renewed following the 2008 season. He coached for the New York franchise in the United Football League in 2009.

A league source also told me that Ross expressed interest in joining the Chiefs staff prior to the 2009 season.

Ross told Nick Wright of 610 Sports back in December that he had an interest in joining the Chiefs staff.

Interestingly, Ross appears set to take the spot previously held by.....

Clancy Pendergast.
