First it was the Patriots, Ravens and Chiefs. Then it was just the Ravens and Chiefs. Now, according to various reports, the Ravens appear to honing in on Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin.
The picks the Ravens are willing to give up, according to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, is a third round pick in 2010 and a sixth or seventh round pick in 2011.
However, the compensation to the Cardinals is likely not the issue.
Instead, it's likely Boldin's contract. He's entering the final year of his contract and whoever trades for him would probably want a long-term deal set-up. Boldin, 29, is reportedly looking for something in the range of $8 million per year.
Also according to Wilson, the Ravens have sought -- and received -- Boldin's medical records from the Cardinals, which is a sign they're nearing a deal.
SI's Peter King -- one of the most reliable reporters in the business -- have said the Ravens are "close" to acquiring Boldin but also pointed out that it's not done yet.
Judging by these reports, it's the Ravens, and not the Chiefs, who will land Boldin.
But there's still time for the Chiefs to make a move.
