Report: WR Kevin Walter Being Recruited By Chiefs, Others

Perhaps looking to beef up in the chance that Chris Chambers isn't signed, the Kansas City Chiefs are "recruiting" former Houston Texans WR Kevin WalterScout.com reports.

Walter is being recruited by the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans are also trying to get him re-signed.

Walter, who turns 29 in August, has posted 195 receptions over the past four seasons to go along with 2,470 yards, and 14 TDs. His best season as a professional came in 2008 when he posted 60 receptions for a career-high 899 yards, to go along with 8 TDs, and a career-high 15.1 yards per catch.

Walter would be an intriguing option. He's got good size (6'3", 221 pounds) and a history of playing in an open offense.

As Adam Caplan of Scout.com points out, he's known as a good possession receiver...perhaps someone who could complement a good vertical receiver like Chambers?
