I asked this morning what is going on with the Kansas City Chiefs and unrestricted free agent WR Chris Chambers.
Apparently there is no agreement in place because the Cincinnati Bengals have Chambers -- and WR Terrell Owens -- on their short list of receivers, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.
Owens is just part of a list that includes Antonio Bryant, Kevin Walter, Chris Chambers, and Josh Reed. The way head coach Marvin Lewis talked last week at the NFL scouting combine, the Bengals aren't looking to make a quick, lucrative deal. But in the past they have put out feelers on the first day and then waited for the market to settle.
Hobson says with some of those receivers the Bengals likely won't want to do more than a one year deal because of their age.
As of now, the Chiefs are still in it. Chambers is likely more valuable to the Chiefs than any other team out there so if the Chiefs want him, it appears they'll have to wait until he tests the market.
