Tennessee safety Eric Berry visited with the Chiefs yesterday so today the Chiefs are turning their attention to another candidate for the fifth overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft.
According to ESPN's Bill Williamson, Oklahoma State LT Russell Okung is in Kansas City today visiting the Chiefs.
Visits don't necessarily mean anything, but it does confirm interest.
The Chiefs will surely be impressed with the 307-pound Okung. He was a dominant player at Oklahoma State. I attended his press briefing at the combine and he was very impressive. I'm sure the Chiefs will like what they hear during their visit.
What else can be said about Okung?
He's a four-year starter from a BCS conference ending his career with 47th consecutive starts. So you know the guy is durable. He's one of the top prospects in the draft -- probably the best left tackle -- and doesn't appear to have any skeletons in his closet that would scare a team off.
As Mr. Williamson said, a visit doesn't mean he'll be the pick but it does show the Chiefs are interested. They only get 30 pre-draft visits so I don't suspect they'd waste one for any reason.
